Anyone can download Minecraft: Education Edition for free! You can try Minecraft: Education Edition free of charge through the free trial, or by downloading the demo lesson. The trial trial is free, but you have to sign up for an account, either an Office 365 Education account or an Microsoft 365 account. It is not necessary to have an account or login to take advantage of the demo lesson. This article gives information on how to use the trial for free and the demo lesson.
Technical requirements
Minecraft: Education Edition can be played on Chromebook, iPad, Mac and PC. To ensure that Minecraft: Education Edition is compatible with your device, please review the System Requirements article.
About the trial free
The free trial is fully functional and includes all the features available in the paid version. The trial is compatible with Code Connection and Classroom Mode. These features are explained in the Get Started with Code Connection and Get Startted with Classroom Mode articles.
The trial is restricted to 25 logins for teachers with an Office 365 Education Account and 10 for all users. After that, a paid license is required to continue playing. Trial logins can't be refreshed - if you experience any issues, contact our support team immediately to ensure you don't waste your trial logins! Minecraft: Education Edition can be purchased after the trial logins are used.

If you have an Office 365 Education account or a Microsoft 365 account, follow these steps to start the trial for free.
Select the Minecraft: Education Edition version you wish to download from the Get Minecraft download page. Install the version of Minecraft: Education Edition that you downloaded. About the demo lessons
Demo lessons allow you to try Minecraft Education Edition for free , and without an account. Demo lessons are limited in their functionality. Worlds and progress have not be saved, and it's impossible to host or participate in multiplayer games. You can experience a real Minecraft lesson by playing a demo lesson. You can experience each lesson as many times as you like.
Start a demo lesson
These steps will enable you to take a no-cost lesson.
Select the Minecraft: Education Edition version you want to download from the Get Minecraft download page. Install the version of Minecraft: Education Edition that you downloaded. Launch Minecraft: Education Edition and, at the Welcome to Minecraft: Education Edition screen, click If you don't have an account, try a demo lesson. To view the license agreement, choose View Terms. Select Accept Terms and then Play when ready to play. Select Start Lesson. Note: Lessons that have the lock overlay are access by logging into the game using a licensed account or one that is suitable for an evaluation.
