Keeping how well you see so fresh so clear, around the cheap
Whipping past low hanging branches in the trees, ice, snow, as well as the occasional yard sale can wreak havoc on your chosen gear. But while a few small dings on your own helmet won’t render it unusable, scrapes and scratches on your own goggle lenses can impair you vision and aren’t cheap to switch.
Nothing stings like seeing that first nick on the fresh couple of goggles—especially if the effect of a bonehead move like dropping your goggles in the parking area gravel (guilty!). Even typical deterioration eventually beats on your gear also it doesn’t stay new for long.
Last season, I tried to take a few protection precautions for my newest set of goggles and gave the Ripclear Goggle Lens Protectors a whirl. The anti-scratch, anti-fog plastic film proceeded my lens as quickly because screen protector on my own phone. There’s no cutting or sizing to adjust to as the lens protectors are sized small, medium, large, and children, and there’s a cut made for either flat or spherical lens shapes.
The super-thin plastic film doesn’t go all the way to the extra edge of my goggles, but didn’t hinder my vision. One protector survived a full season of deep tree skiing and parking zone mishaps without peeling up round the edges. I used the included microfiber cleaning cloth and cleaning wipes after each day to keep my lens clean and clear. When the lens protector did suffer a few scratches, it peeled of as easily because it was applied. glasses lens protection slapped a replacement back on my untarnished lens (it came in a 3-pack) and I’m all set again next season. Pretty simple, pretty genius.
