Mojang, a Minecraft developer has announced in October that part two of their massive Caves and Cliffs update would be available in "a month or more". It seems like it's about the time, as Mikael "slicedlime" Hedberg, the Tech Lead for Minecraft Java Edition, just tweeted something cryptic:
This might not seem like anything to be concerned about, but Mojang employees are famous for using Twitter to tease upcoming features - or accidentally doing so, at least the language in the tweet specifically "pre-paring", hints at a pre-release for Caves and Cliffs part 2.
Pre-releases usually occur a few days or weeks before the official release of the update and are used as a transition between "snapshots" - the testing of new features that players can opt into and the final update, which is as close to finished as it is possible. 1.17's last update was released on May 27th. Chilling And Killing update was released on June 8th.
What is this all about? It's a good thing, because it means we won't have long to wait for the 1.18 update that will bring a brand new worlds to your Minecraft worlds. It could be out before the end of November!
Mojang also announced in this year's Minecraft Live presentation that the Deep Dark biome and its new mob, The Warden, would be delayed until 2022's update, The Wild.
