Our biggest error is always assuming complete alignment in expectations on both sides. We don't want to read our partner's thoughts to find out his expectations. There's one thing that we are in complete accord with our partner in - he also doesn't miss an opportunity to widen the gap between expectations. .... There are a variety of reasons that lead to miscommunications, and most of them have to do with our personality. The square personality is more likely not to communicate with those who are liberal. We humans are divided into two categories. Certain of us are 'full-circle' types, a self-contained person that finds it easy to be by himself. It's true that he wants to be with someone, and yes, he's always seeking one. Absolutely! It's all true ... But, he can survive without a dream partner until he gets it. Once he has found the perfect one, he will be able to continue the rest of his life with his complete circle of friends.
The "half-a circle" type is the other aspect of humankind. (No this isn't a the full-circle type that was damaged in the delivery). Once they've found the grumpy creature that they have found, they will not let go. They'll work to physically integrate their victim to create one happy circle. The Halves won't accept any less than gazing at each other from a distance of zero distance. Only intimate relationships satisfy their need to connect to one another and create a whole.
One of the most fascinating observations between types is how they decide to let go of their companion. The entire circle would typically let go of a person who has lost chemistry very quickly. Half-a-circle types will, however redefine what having mutual in chemistry with their partners is referring to - 'I'm keeping this B..ST..RD until I am able replace them with a proper upgrade'.
Imagine the amazing dance that takes place in the moment two people, a "half-a-circle" and the "full-circle" attempt to make one each other their partner, without being conscious of their distinct geometries. The Half moves two steps ahead far beyond the comfort zone of the Full who finds this sudden entry into his own personal space a little too frightening. So he fixes this zone-invasion-problem by making a gentle step backward. The issue is that he took half of his comfort zone .... and as the Half was convinced that the Full had made an error that was innocent, the Half begins getting angry and takes a step in the opposite direction. They understand the reason, but since they don't know the proper language, they aren't able to adequately explain their confusion and head to the wrong places. They could have saved themselves by knowing the distinction between Half and Full.
While there is no one conclusion, there are several ways to go about it.
1. Find out who you are.
2. Discover who is your true partner is
3. Make the distinction.
3. Respect this distinction!
