New Minecraft Launcher Launcher Starts With A Grey Screen

System Restore is the first line of defense and can take you back to a point before an issue began, as a time machine. If it doesn't help then you can try to undo it. Read more about it in the above tutorial and then try restoring back to before this began. If System Restore is not enabled on the C drive do that now so it's possible to enable it in the future.



If the problem repeats or System Restore doesn't work then check which Windows Updates were installed at Settings > Update & Security > Windows Updates > Update History, uninstall them there or System Restore again, then immediately check for and block the Updates with the Hide Updates tool explained here: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/8280-hide-s...



Even if you've already attempted the these steps, please do them over in order:



1) Run the Store app troubleshooter at Settings>> Update and Security Troubleshoot.



2) Search for and install game updates using the Microsoft Store app > Hub (three dots in the upper right) > Updates.



3) Try Resetting Minecraft in Windows Settings > Apps > Apps & Features > Minecraft > Advanced Options > Repair or Reset. Restart your computer and try again.



If none of these work, uninstall Minecraft from Settings above, restart your PC then reinstall the program from MS Store Hub (three dots at top right of Store app) > My Library.



4) The driver for Display is so crucial that merely updating it is sometimes not enough. Therefore, let's try every option to get it working correctly:



You can upgrade the driver for your Display via the Display adapter or PC manufacturer's Support downloads website. This will give you the exact model number, HP Serial No. or Dell Service Tag - as indicated on the sticker on your computer.



You can also search for BIOS/UEFI firmwares, the latest chipsets and network, sound and other drivers by right-clicking the Start Menu.



If this doesn't give you the latest or ideal driver for what you need, compare it to the driver offered by the Intel driver update Utility here: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/... or the Nvidia Update utility here: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Scan.aspx?lang=e... or the AMD autodect utility here: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/P...



For Display issues, one solution that works is to roll back or uninstall the Driver on the Display Device > Driver tab, then restart your PC to install the driver.



You can also try older drivers in Device Manager > Display device > Driver tab > Update Driver > Browse > Let Me Choose.



This will let you know that you've tried every option in addition to Windows Update drivers.



Adjust the resolution of the screen until it looks and fits best at Settings > System > Display.
