The biggest error we make is always assuming complete alignment in expectations on both sides. We don't attempt to pick out our partner's thoughts to find out his expectations. There is however one thing we can almost always are in agreement on: he won't overlook an opportunity ....to increase the expectations gap We're not notified by anyone.
There are a variety of reasons for communication issues, but they are generally due to our individual personalities. People with square personalities are more likely to avoid communicating with liberal personalities. Aggressive personalities will be unable to reconcile their expectations with those of passive individuals. This is simple to spot as everyone can tell the difference between liberal and passive from aggressive.

What happens if they're totally different? They'll never recognize that. Imagine to yourself that there's a type of personality gap that exists, but which we are not aware of. It has never been discovered, reported on, or studied by anyone. !

Two types of human beings are there. Some of us can be divided into two categories that are self-contained and others feel totally at home alone. Sure, he's required to be around someone else, and he's in search of one. Absolutely! It's all true ... But, he'll be able to survive without his dream partner until he gets it. He is determined to spend his entire life with his partner and is determined to make it to the end of his circle.
The other group is those who are "half-acircle" kinds. When they find the miserable creature, they won't let go. They'll try to live with their victim as if they were one of them, and will not let go of the idea of living together. They will not compromise their desire to be able to stare at each others for the rest of their lives. Only intimacy can satisfy their need to connect to one another and create a whole.
An interesting distinction between the two types relates to the decision to leave the person you are with. The entire circle would typically let go of a person who has lost their chemistry rapidly. However, the 'half-acircle' types will alter the definition of chemistry between couples to mean "I am holding on to this B..ST..RD. until I am able to replace him with a better version."

Imagine the amazing dance that takes place when two people in a "half" and "full" circle attempt to be their partner. They are not aware of their differences. The Half takes two leaps forward, well away from the safety space of the Full, who thinks this sudden invasion of his personal space a little too terrifying. So he fixes this zone-invasion-problem by making a gentle step backward. He pushed the Half out of his comfortable zone . Even though the Half assumes that the Full made a error, and was kind enough to compensate by taking a second step ahead, the Half is more concerned and begins to get angry. They can understand why, but because they don't know the proper language, they aren't able to adequately explain their confusion and head to the wrong places. They could have saved their own lives knowing that one half and one is Full.
While there is no one answer, there are many actions that can be taken.
1. Find out more about who you are.
2. Find out about your friend
3. There's a difference.
