Unfortunately, this is what many of our youth soccer coaches experience. They keep doing the same old thing year after year while ending up with same frustrating poor or choppy results. I did the post-season assessment during my first few years as a youth coach. My answer was always the same: I needed better football players to solve my problem. My thoughts were that I needed better x, better y players, and kids with more motivation etc. It was always the faults of the children, all I needed was a "good crew" and we would do well.

When your mind starts nagging you with horror story scenarios of what could go wrong, just say, "Hey, wait a minute! I don't want that!" Now think about what you do want. "I want great speaking. I want to make a connection with my audience. I want to feel confident about my message." This is what you want. Put your focus on what matters most.
