so, things have changed with jacob's and my plan. he wants to move out as soon and he and I have both collectively saved up around $1500, and when brush meadows has an opening of one of their 1 bedroom apartments. it is very exciting and anxious but I feel like it will be fun! brush meadows is along lake elmo drive so i will still be close to grandma and we will still be in billings which is so nice, i dont want to move away from family. im thinking maybe 4-5 months of saving, just to make sure that I have more than enough. the 1 bedroom apartments have a $500 deposit, and I have been practicing budgeting since I was in middle school, so im very good with check lists and knowing what I need and what I want.
although this is a humongous step, and I could use any advice and any help that you could give me, especially since I know you and dad have some experience with renting apartments and I have lots of questions. I know that before moving in to look for any water spots, mold spots, asking about maintenance hours, and I also have to save up for probably a moving truck for my fishtank, my bed if thats okay to bring, I know it's ethans but I dont know if he's ever going to use it, and also I definitely think that my bed is way better than jacob's but he disagrees >:c)
If im going to be honest here, I'm scared of moving out. I know its something that I've always wanted to do since I was little, moving out and living on my own, and I know I'm more than capable of doing it, but I'm just scared that I will get homesick and want to leave, and I hate backing out of things. I will also have an apartment warming party! Everyone will be invited once all the moving in has settled down. Brush meadows allows cats (yay!) and one of Jacob's best friends lives in the same apartments too, so expect me to complain a lot about how much Jacob hangs out with him ahahaha
Of course this isnt a good bye or anything! I just wanted to keep you up to date on everything that is going on in my life right now, and I wanted to let you know because you're my mom. I wanted to tell you this in person, but I am very anxious and I might cry at the thought of not having the safety on constantly relying on you and dad for everything. Man this really sucks ahaha, but I really want to do this for both me and Jacob. He needs to leave and Izzie stresses him out so much and wastes so much of his money that he barely even has money for gas but still has to run Izzie errands. He and I talked about it for a long time and decided that now it's time to start saving.
Honestly, I'm just glad that you and dad didn't judge me (or at least judge me out loud) for talking about mine and Jacobs future. Like marriage and stuff. It makes me anxious because I've heard it a lot, like "Oh they're just young and dumb, and they wont get married because theyre just teenagers" but I feel like I want to be with Jacob forever and I love him a lot. I want to marry him and stay with him, and I am glad that you guys love him too. (I'm tearing up writing this ahaha) But seriously, any help would really really be appreciated, and it depends on how it goes, but I will constantly let you know how much I'm saving up, and I know you're a genius with budgeting, I don't even know how you do it. I might have to keep a checklist along with how much I get paid in order to make sure that Jacob and I can provide food, clothes (that will be later ofc we have clothes but Jacob doesn't have that much. Don't tell him but I plan on taking him clothes shopping with the first $50 of my first paycheck but not right away. It will be a surprise). I will make a list of things that I need and the general price of them. I can get plates, bowls, cups, and silverware from the dollar tree, but I think it would be really really fun for you and I and dad to sit down and discuss budgeting and researching a checklist that I've made and how much it will cost for me to get everything.
