Animate to Inanimate (2)
Pada prinsipnya, transfigurasi animate to inanimate adalah menjadikan makhluk hidup menjadi benda mati. Mantra yang digunakan adalah vera verto (dibaca vair-uh VAIR-toh), yang menciptakan cahaya serupa kristal sebelum objek yang terkena mantra menjadi benda mati. Mantra tersebut dibaca bersamaan dengan ketukan wand 3 kali dan diakhiri dengan mengarahkan wand ke objek yang akan dikenai mantra.
Jika mantra berhasil, objek yang dikenai mantra akan berubah seperti air dan menjadi gelas piala atau water goblet. Jika objek berubah menjadi benda mati selain gelas piala, hal itu disebut abnormalities. Untuk menghilangkan pengaruh mantra, digunakan mantra finite incatatem.
Transfigurasi animate to inanimate adalah transfigurasi yang sulit dan beresiko tinggi. Menjadikan makhluk hidup ke benda mati dapat menghilangkan beberapa sel makhluk hidup tersebut. Konsentrasi sangat diperlukan agar transfigurasi berhasil.
