Rhyming adds a musical element to a poem and makes it easier to read and memorize. When the last word in a line of poetry rhymes with the last word in another line, this is called an end rhyme. When words in the middle of a line rhyme, this is an internal rhyme.
Figurative Language in Poetry

Different types of figurative language include metaphors, similes, personification, repetition, assonance, alliteration, onomatopoeia, hyperbole, and paradox.

• A simile uses the words "like" or "as" to compare one object or idea to another to show how they are alike.
