Anyone Played Minecraft On An M1 Mac?

Have you ever played Minecraft on an M1 Mac

Hey!
jason's blog

When I read the reviews of the new Macs, specifically the MacBook Pro, I'm very inclined to upgrade from my Surface Pro 4 to a Mac. I was a Mac user during the Snow Leopard to Mavericks days. However I changed to Windows a few decades ago.

I have many programs that that I've heard work well on M1 but do you know whether Minecraft (Java), works on an M1 Mac. It's my most played game and I don't think I can replace my computer with one that does not support it. I'm aware that Java exists for ARM but I've not heard anyone play Minecraft on an M! Mac as of yet!

Thanks! (I hope that I put it in the right place!)

Highly recommend it. Performance-wise the M1 Mac will blow your mind. It is only a matter of time before Minecraft is optimized to the M1. Until then you'll be able to use either version. Bedrock (because M1's are able to run natively applications for iOS/iPadOS currently) as well as Java (translated in real-time running Rosetta 2 which is built in. You won't notice a difference).

I tried to side load Minecraft to my M1 Mac, but the keyboard and mouse wouldn't work. How did you side load it sir?

Yes

Information from the video: Java does not have an official M1 app , therefore it has to utilize Rosetta 2 Emulation.

He looked at the Baseline 7-core GPU MacBook Air to the Baseline 8-core GPU MacBook Pro. The MBP produced the world (same seeds on both) like a second faster however the MacBook Air seemed to be getting a bit better FPS due to some reason (he was using same settings for graphics on both).

This comparison has a problem. He did not shut down vsync, so the FPS is only 60 FPS. It would have been interesting to see how high it could go.

The iOS, Android, and Windows 10 Minecraft versions all are compatible. However the Pocket Edition Realms server will not allow for the PC and Mac versions to play each one another. You can still play with your friends on Android and an iOS device.
