Doodle God, launched in 2010 by JoyBits, gave a puzzle-game twist to the world-building genre. Minecraft economy servers expanded into a series that includes titles like Doodle Devil, Doodle Mafia, Doodle Farm and more. On Friday, Doodle God Universe joined Apple Arcade's extensive slate of games.



Doodle God Universe lets you combine various elements, starting with air, earth and fire. You can build new elements and items through puzzles to build your own universe, and help the life that exists there.

While Doodle God Universe will feel familiar to players who have played the games before, Paul, a brand evangelist for JoyBits who prefers to only use his first name, says in many ways this is an completely new game. Doodle God Universe features modern icons of elements that have been redrawn 3D scenes, and more reactions as well as adjustments to the game's pace and difficulty.

Making up world-building games that are chaotic and imaginative games such as Minecraft, Stardew Valley, Terraria and The Sims have supplied gamers with hours of entertainment for years. Paul says that Doodle God Universe, like every other game that builds worlds, is about exploration and finding the unexpected.



Paul said that world-building games can be very interesting for a long period of time and that many players would love to read Doodle God over and again as a novel. "And when you're in a complete lockdown when a person spends almost all their time at home- what can be better than re-reading your favorite book, re-watching [your] favorite TV show, or re-creating the world in the Doodle God Universe?"



Paul suggests that players who play Doodle God Universe should be open to exploring new ideas. This will make the game more fun. Doodle God Universe rewards curiosity.



"Use your imagination, make creativity your engine," Paul said. "There is no predetermined game rules. You can apply your thinking skills to combine elements or create them chaotic.



Apple Arcade has nearly 200 games, including Alto's Odyssey and Angry Birds Reloaded.
