Materi: Kutukan Sihir Hitam
Merupakan bentuk penyerangan yang dapat merusak fisik serta psikis target. Kementrian sihir menekankan bahwa sihir seperti ini sangatlah dilarang untuk dipakai bagi komunitas penyihir. Namun pengecualian bagi para Auror; mereka bisa menggunakannya dalam menjalankan tugas.
Berikut adalah beberapa sihir hitam yang dimaksud:
1. Avada Kedavra: yaitu mantra yang dapat membunuh target tanpa jejak. Biasa disebut Kutukan Pembunuh.
2. Crucio: yaitu mantra yang dapat membuat target menderita sakit yang luar biasa. Biasa disebut kutukan Cruciatus.
3. Imperio: yaitu mantra yang dapat mengendalikan target (manusia/hewan); memerintah apapun pada target. Biasa disebut kutukan Imperius.
Ketiga mantra diatas adalah Tiga Kutukan Tak Termaafkan dan jika menggunakannya? Akan ditempatkan di penjara Azkaban dan juga dikecup dementor.
4. Fiendyre: yaitu mantra kutukan yang menyerupai api besar berbentuk Naga atau Chimaera. Api ini tidak bisa dipadamkan dengan Aguamenti dan dapat membinasakan Horcrux.
5. Petrification: adalah mantra kutukan yang dapat membuat target membatu selamanya. Mantra ini dapat hilang jika target itu terbunuh. Mantra ini tidak sama dengan Petrificus Totalus; mantra yang dapat membius target; yang dapat ditahan dengan mantra pelindung. Mantra ini dapat diobati dengan akar Mandrake (salah satu tanaman obat sihir).
