Broadcasters can theoretically fit as many as seven or 8 programs into a frequency. But few, if anyone, have done more than adding a second HD-channel. They still use these channels in a very creative way. An example of this is an easy-to-listening station that broadcasts all blues on its HD2 channel. One station in Albany, NY broadcasts oldies and smooth jazz on its HD1 channel. Los Angeles station HD1 broadcasts adult contemporary formats and Pride Radio on its HD2 Channel.

An FM transmitter is the simplest and most cost-effective option. There are two types, wired and wireless, of FM transmitters. Basically, a wired one connects to your car, while a wireless uses radio frequency to play through the car stereo. These devices function by connecting to your iPod and receiving a signal from your car?s radio stations. The frequency that is allotted to these devices is very low. It will only work with stations between 88.1 FM and 107.9FM. Any other station cannot pick up the sound coming from the FM transmitter.

Manufacturers don't give the range for transmitters that have been fully charged in ideal conditions. You should always verify the range of your tracking collar before relying on what it might say.
