I waited for Arnold while rereading his book and trying to use his strategies myself in online tournaments. The short of it was - it wasn't working for me. So I reverted back to my own mzone based tournament strategy and began winning again.
From the moment you sit down you only ever bet/raise out. Never ever fold and never ever call. Always bet a minimum of 3xbb, usually 4xbb or 5xbb. After a while you'll notice players just start folding left right and centre. You can play as tight or as loose as you want depending on your skill level and ability to handle.
Contrary to popular belief, poker is more of a sport, rather than a game. It is indeed more than just gambling. Anybody can play poker, but to be really good at it, you need a lot of patience, skill, and determination. As they say, it takes a few minutes to learn to play poker, but it takes a lifetime to be really good at it.
poker betting strategy One note of caution however. If and when people do call your "opener" raise you can put them on a long suit hand. Or at least you'll know ipso facto they are an aggressive player and you need to proceed with caution.
Stealing the Blinds: A strategy worth expanding in poker is taking down uncontested blinds and pots! Stealing visit here over a period of time will win you more money than you will lose. There some things you should think about before you start stealing the blinds is the type of players at the table, your own table image, sensing weakness at the table and the size of the bet.
You are now most likely very aware of times you have made one of these mistakes, aren't you. In fact, I'd go so far as to guess you have made at least one of these mistakes before and that caused you to lose money. You are probably realizing you have a bit of work to do on your Texas Poker strategy.
Write out your plan or strategy. A key component of this should be a list of the pocket cards you will play and from which position. When you know upfront which cards you are going to play you don't have to waste time at the table deciding whether to play or not.
