Online video storage is unpredictable. Sites could close or disappear. Here's how you can backup the social media content to your personal computer.

My personal story isn't too long. I was born, went on to university and then worked, fought and then finally, I was able to achieve something online. However, it does include some devastating moments where I thought my life was done. One of these moments was when my home computer stopped working... After a little bit of tweaking, moving the hard drive from my old to the new drive and getting an entirely new desktop, my work was restored. It took me three days of sweating and literally tears. However, I did learn an important lesson: Dropbox and personal file servers are a great way to automate or manually back up my work from the day.

This is not the most ideal option. The more data you store in your online storage, the more have to spend to keep it. It's very simple and seems to be quite secure. It's easy to download and is downloaded from anywhere there is internet. What happens where WiFi or another internet connection isn't accessible? I keep my laptop handy during these instances. It is my last line of defense against the worst. I have 2 drives there connected as a RAID stack so they copy each other and ensure that one copy is retained if one of the two HDDs fails. Because I rarely copy the contents of my laptop, I have made it so that 2 drives do not get disconnected at once.

A few months ago, my other major day of grief was. I take care not to lose all of my work, and as I stated above, now I duplicate it many times and have access to it wherever internet is available. This was Periscope. I was a frequent user of it years back. I even participated in live streams during the Riots last summer 2020. Periscope TV has now closed and all videos will be gone in a matter of weeks. What do I do? I want all the videos to be downloaded so that they can be saved off-line on my laptop. Those are very dear to me. It's also the last time I've hung with my friend who vanished off the radar in Covid and it seems like it got him..

the site I use as it lets me download video content from Youtube, Instagram and Facebook as well as other places that contain most of my live streams. I am into politics and underground movements, which is why I film a lot of live events, save videos for the future and then publish them on my YouTube channel and each time live is over, I back it up into my laptop. This is how I do it. This also lets me cross-post videos across different platforms. This means I can not just share a YouTube video on Facebook but also upload that same video on Facebook. And it will be a separate video. It's astonishing the amount of live streams have I made over the last eight years. I currently have 3TB. It's not like I'm going to lose my Periscope lives.. And this site has helped me tremendously.

It's a breeze. If I view the video I would like to download from Periscope, Youtube or Facebook and copy the URL using the share link. I then navigate to the site for video downloaders and paste the link there, and within a few seconds I'll see a variety of choices for downloading videos. I can download it to my desktop or laptop, copy it across platforms, and save it for my loved ones. It's not every site that can assist with Periscope, but this one is a good choice, it is able to handle m3u8 files which other websites typically download on your behalf.. They work well, but don't get me wrong however, they're actually using fragments from online video feeds which means that playing the file in VLC while works great, doesn't actually accomplish the task - video is not on your machine, it's still online and plays from online, when player loads short fragment files 1 at a time...

You can use windows copy to put these fragments together and then create a standard 1-long video file. This is due to the format used by video for creating the fragments, MpegTS, also referred to as transport stream. y2mate It includes all the information needed for video decoding in each of the fragments and makes them separate from the stream itself and allowing each newcomer to begin streaming without delay. On the other hand it can help browsers save data transfer because instead of a single hour file, it gets 360 x 10 seconds files, and only downloads those that you're watching. Thus, if you only watch 25 seconds of the stream the player downloads only 4-6 fragments (it gets 3-4 fragments of the current 25 seconds stretch as well as 1-2 fragments following when you keep viewing the stream). This helps greatly reduce total download needed to watch only 25 sec from the center of the stream. There is there is no need to download the entire 1hr of video prior to that 25 seconds..
