Get off social media
- Recently I deactivated my instagram because I noticed it took up a couple hours of my week, so prolly 2 hours a day
- Sure instagram is part of my brand but you gotta see things for what they are
- You gotta start asking yourself, is this doing me more harm than good.
- I have so many tasks I need to do, and being on instagram whenever I feel a sense of boredom is not going to fix my bad decision making/discipline.
- Speaking of, I do want to get to the point where I have the discipline to have all the apps on my phone and still have low screen time cause at that point id have my balance as a man when it comes to work, socials, health, family and money
- Essentially just finding, I wouldn’t say a schedule cause this is based off your habits, but something that’s sustainable
- This also reminds me of meditation cause nowadays with social media we get distracted so easily, but the process of meditation is legit breathing and bringing your mind back to the thought of your breaths so you can train your mind to do what you tell it to do rather than letting your mind control you— drifting onto your distracting thoughts
- Another connection I made when I learned this was with prayer in islam, during prayer you are supposed to be thinking about repenting and express gratitude to God, but as humans we have these distracting thoughts about anything while doing any task. So meditation goes back to the idea of training your mind to follow what you tell it to do, which is breathing. Practicing that skill for a short amount of time everyday will allow you to train your mind as well as bring a lot of clarity throughout your day
