Customer Obsession: market research; surveys

Ownership: context-based approach instead of statistical-based approach for metrics; ownership of live streaming with error logging - defined goals for self to 'make it usable'; ownership of design when designer was maternity leave

Invent and Simplify: live streaming error, large numbers, sampling testing - automated not fucking manual; automate metrics for customers and internal stakeholders by building a custom email package with smtplib (Python) - solved problem of losing information and made meetings more effective - saved a ton of time;

Are Right, A Lot: caching + bottleneck; Partsimony price prediction - not sure if model is good enough, with small sample of data;

Bias for Action: workouts per day instead of calories - adaptive views for studios - other studios adopted; Redesign the API so can work concurrently (???????????????)

Learn and Be Curious: writing mini-COE for JETSWEAT problems faced; Kubernetes for live streaming - was not a DevOps person, but learned it through books, and talking to SMEs in the field, tutorials.

Hire and Develop the Best: coached a high potential intern to do well with design decisions, despite initial hiccups he faced

Insist on the Highest Standards: documentation every sprint allocated time for, cross checked with multiple engineers - faster Initial PRs for new interns, improved code quality generally through lower bugs, faster releases; more reliable uptime in early stages of platform - goal was 99% uptime excluding excused downtime - could have improved on that through prioritizing testing through TDD across the dev team rather than launching new features.

Think Big: same technology to solve different problem as well as to apply to error logging - solve live streaming issues using erorr logging issues (REDIS); error logging across the company to solve sporadic issues - tracked using a weekly metrics meeting, and helped us be metric-centric

Frugality: live streaming - costs high in AWS - used Kubernetes as a driver; availability to all users versus cost - prioritization to specific types of users to preserve customer expereience for majority

Earn Trust: clients complained that her last live streaming class experience wasn’t good. 3 of her attendees were disconnected - error logging - tolerance, and transparency with customer of error metrics - created UI for this - set up SLA as a result;
