Mojang, a Minecraft developer announced in October part two of their huge Caves and Cliffs update would be available in "a month or more". It seems like it's almost there, as Mikael Hedberg, the Tech Lead of Minecraft Java Edition, has tweeted something that's a bit mysterious.
It may not seem like much to go on, but Mojang employees are known for using Twitter to announce upcoming features - or, in some cases, accidentally doing so, at the very least and the tone of the tweet specifically "pre-paring" it suggests a pre-release for Caves and Cliffs part 2.
Pre-releases typically occur only a few weeks or days before the official release of the new update, and serve as a bridge between "snapshots" - the testing ground for new features that players can choose to use - and the full update, which is as close to finished as is. 1.17's last update was released on May 27th. The full update was released on June 8th.
What does this mean? It's a good thing, because it means we will not have to wait too long for the 1.18 update that will add a stunning new world generation to your Minecraft worlds. It might even be available before November ends!
Mojang also announced in this year's Minecraft Live presentation that the Deep Dark biome and its new mob, The Warden, would be delayed until 2022's update, The Wild.
