Dry Brushing the Body Brush – A Secret Weapon for the Massage Therapist
The following steps are required for a lymphatic massage: Step 1: Clearing your lymphatic system. Your lymphatic network is a system of tubes and nodes in your body that transport waste products, other substances and back to your bonemarrow for replenishment. A medical condition known as a blockage occurs when one or several of these tubes or nodes becomes blocked. There are many ways that blockages can occur. Overproduction of certain glands, disease, fluid buildup in the lungs, kidneys or radiation therapy can all cause blockages. The obstruction can cause the tubes and nodes to become blocked and prevent waste products from reaching the bone marrow.

A lymphatic massage clears your lymphatic system of blocked or narrowed drain lines so the flow can continue normally. In addition to clearing the lymphatic system, a massage also stimulates lymph flow. Normal and effective lymph flow will help your immune system work better and provide more energy. You'll feel happier, more relaxed, and look younger. Lymphatic massages improve circulation and stimulate lymphatic drain which allows waste products from your body to move faster through the lymphatic system. This reduces swelling and makes it possible for the body's waste to be removed from its cells.

Step two: Lymphatic drainage and skin care. The lymphatic system is cleared of any debris and blockages that might be present by this massage. Start at your feet, work your way up to your hips and then move onto your waistline and upper shoulders. You can gently stretch your legs, lower back, abdomen, buttocks, and stomach with gentle stretches. Do not press too hard. Simply move in a circular fashion and stop when the muscles around your shoulders start to relax.

Step 3: Upper Arm, Back Massage. This massage begins by applying massage therapy to the upper arm, using your thumb and forefinger to gently pull up the skin on the outside of your arm. When you stretch your upper arms towards the heavens, make sure your elbows are slightly bent. Avoid rubbing your stomach muscles.

Step Three: Knead the Lower Back. A full body massage is completed by gently stretching the lower back, buttocks, and lower back. Your hands should be placed along your lower spine and you can gently stretch forward. Do not force your buttocks toward your spine by pulling them back. Instead, stretch gently in a circular motion. This will allow you to stretch your muscles.

Step Four: Lymphatic Nodes (and lymphatic drainage). The fourth step is stimulating lymph nodes by using your fingertips. For most people, the glands in their hand are the best place to begin this process because they are easier to manipulate. If this method does not completely give you a relaxing massage, you may wish to use a massage oil to soothe the lymph nodes in your hands. Your lymphatic nodes will be relieved of toxins by using the massage oil.

Step Five: Drainage Massage. Once all the knots, pain, and muscle tensions in the body have been successfully treated, it's time to drain the system. A lymphatic drainage massage is performed by a therapist who will position themselves behind the root portion of the client's hand and start tapping the drainage system using slow, rhythmic strokes. This massage technique delivers deep, cellular cleansing.

As you now know, you do not need an expensive massage therapist in order to receive a lymphatic massage. What you need is to understand the basic concepts and techniques that form the basis of any quality lymphatic massage therapy session. You do not need to spend thousands of dollars in order to receive a lymphatic massage, nor do you need a massage therapist to perform a lymphatic movement. To properly stimulate your lymphatic system, you only need to know how to dry brush body brush and how to transfer fluid through your body quickly and efficiently. You can perform a successful lymphatic treatment on your own if you are able to do these things.
