How to Give the Perfect Massage
Origins: Ayurvedic Massage originates in India which is where it has come a long way to become an internationally acclaimed practice of healing. Its origins go to the year 3000 B.C. when Yoga was first discovered. Based on its fundamental principles of alignment and physical postures, Ayurvedic massage has been practiced for many thousands of years to improve well-being and overall health. Ayurvedic Massage remains popular both in India and the West. The benefits of this massage are being investigated, but a lot of research has been conducted regarding its traditional techniques for relaxation and healing.

Therapy using the touch: Ayurvedic massage includes the application of massage techniques, such as friction or kneading which is applied over the entire body with massage oils (such as lavender, eucalyptus, or almond oil) and herbal oils (such as marjoram, basil, or Neem). Ayurvedic practitioners use their hands to massage these areas by using smooth, rhythmic strokes. Every stroke is designed to relax and to stimulate the muscles, thus returning balance and harmony. There are no major adverse physiological consequences from this, although some muscle strains and tension are temporary, as is common in any therapy which involves direct contact with skin.

Ayurvedic massage is intended to induce deep relaxation. This helps reduce anxiety and stress. It encourages the flow of energy throughout the body, aiding the purification and detoxification process. It also stimulates the lymphatic system and promotes healthy immunity.

Asanas or postures: Ayurvedic Massage is well-known for its capacity to offer the body with a full workout, using techniques like the vataras (or "postures") of Ayurvedic Massage. They are basically positions of the body that are performed with repetitive patterns. For example, the Ayurvedic oil-soaked cloth used for meditation could be substituted with an axybutylene glycolic (AGB) scrub, which is used to clean the soft tissues and internal organs. Each pose has their own reason for being there, like stretching and relaxing.

Warm Doshas: Ayurvedic massage usually starts with warm, dense doshas, that is followed by a mild feeling of tingling. This is the beginning of the actual massage. It uses gentle and balancing strokes in order to loosen tight muscles and eliminate blockages. It is a good idea adding herbs to boost the aroma-enhancing and therapeutic benefits. The most common Ayurvedic herbs used for a warm dosha-specific oils include jasmine, rosemary, mint and basil.

Swedish Massage: While the massage may not be as soothing than hot doshas but it can be highly effective in eliminating waste and improving circulation. A Swedish massage is a relaxing and soothing choice for those suffering from chronic pain, as well as other conditions. In addition, a Swedish massage is often coupled with herbal extracts from plants found in India including ginger and turmeric, which could have medicinal qualities. Chakras are an essential ingredient in Swedish massage. They're named in honor of Sanskrit which was the language used by the ancient Hindus to describe them.

Chakras are semi-permeable vesicles on the skin's surface which are where the flow of energy. These vesicles could restrict or narrow and cause discomfort as well as discomfort. They also hamper the body's ability to heal properly. Ayurvedic massage employs mild strokes and soothing oils to unblock the blocked channels, improve circulation of blood, and flush out the toxins. It's usually as easy as adding a couple drops to the massage strokes in order to enhance their soothing properties. Some essential oils commonly used in Ayurvedic massage are the following: myrrh, ginger along with saffron and rosewood oil.

Abhyanga Massage: Abhyanga massage is ideal for cleansing and purifying the skin. Since the masseuse draws from both internal and external sources to aid in the detoxification process the abhyanga massage is especially beneficial to those trying to cleanse their inner organs and also help to open the pores on the exterior of their skin. Most abhyanga massage oils contain myrrh and ginger. Ayurvedic herbs used commonly in abhyanga massage include hyssop camellia sinensis marjoram, nutmeg cumin, fenugreek liquorice.
