How to stay current in the world of music from your home country even when you've been in the USA for the last 10 years

How do you describe your life? I am an Russki boy who came to America in search of an improved lifestyle. In Russia I wasn't wealthy and definitely not in the middle class. My family, not me in the sense of. In Russia young adults didn't need money back as I grew to be a teenager, so we had to find ways to earn some money. There were many different schemes. They were generally like alcoholics who asked their friends for some money to purchase their own vodka bottle. It was pretty similar. We would look for ways to earn some cash so we could purchase bread. We would always be hungry.


So, I'm in America. But is nowhere like New York, Brooklyn, Brighton Beach. This is a place that reminds me of the comforts of home. It's noisy, filthy, filled with Russian speech, the people are rude, well, just a normal Russian city experience. I've spent quite a bit of dollars there, mostly in Russian restaurants, book and music stores.

I am a huge fan of music and I love to read books. As of late, it is easy to find Russian books on Kindle. So I decided to stop buying hard copy books as I don't have much space in my home. My wife is nearly a hoarder, so I do everything possible not to contribute to her and that includes avoiding purchasing new stuff that I don't require to keep around my house, because there is no place to put it... Although stacks and stacks of books look intelligent in the beginning, once they got older, they looked dull and boring. After that I moved them into my garage.

However, music is a different thing. Since my work requires driving often I also listen to a lot of music. Since I'm a Russian citizen, there's no way that I would like new music in the USA. I'm not a fan of hip hop metal, rap and pop. And all the new age things that make kids want to dance. I really love the old Russian music, and also the jail type songs that are especially suited to Russian music culture. They are still popular there after 20 years away, and they are not on CDs, but rather cassettes in cars, and Youtube videos. Youtube is where everything happens. YouTube is my favorite music site. I listen to it all the time, whether I am at home or at work.

I have a great playlist that includes 300 songs I enjoy. This playlist is a precious chest of music that I play on repeat each day. It has over 300 songs. If I want to listen to them while driving but I don't have sufficient internet. It's crucial to navigate, drive and also for my personal enjoyment. I prepare everything at home. I'm now in the middle. https://listen-to-youtube.net I upload a handful of songs to Youtube as mp3 files. After that, I burn those MP3s to CDs using my computer. Then, I take the CD to my car to listen. It can also take an Youtube playlist to print the songs. Every song is converted to MP3 and stored on my computer. Then, you can easily transfer the file to an audio-CD. Sometimes I'm prone to making a mistake and end up making a data CD. This won't work in my car stereo. But the audio can be recorded. It's amazing to see how technology is working. It's not necessary to go online or have any other devices to play MP3. Simply insert the CDs into the stereo slot, and I hear the Russian music booming in Manhattan.

It's very easy to grab videos on Youtube and save the videos as mp3 files. It is then possible to download them onto your Smartphone. My friend connected his phone to the car stereo and the phone started playing high-quality audio in just a couple of seconds. He also was able stream Pandora radio and Spotify and it's not even requiring a lot of Internet to do this. I'm going to try this in the next.. But, I'll make sure not to use the free wifi.
