It's been a few months since we first heard about Minecraft Earth, the augmented virtual reality version of Mojang's game that makes the real world a playground full of your blocky creations. It promised a beta release of the game in the summer of this year. Now it's here, along with a new trailer, the company says it will be available on iOS within the next two weeks with Android following "soon thereafter."
The launch of the game on iOS isn't a surprise after we got our first glimpse of live gameplay during WWDC last month. The trailer provides more information about the game. However, it's worth taking a look at the Apple demo to check the game's features and if you have any queries.
To be one of the first players with access, you'll have to sign up for the game right here (you'll need a device with at least iOS 10 or Android 7 to play, as per the FAQ). Access to the game is limited because they are adjusting load to servers. However, you must be active to play. If you aren't playing for seven consecutive days, someone else will be able to take your place. To register, you will need a Microsoft or Xbox Live account. Once you have signed up and have a password, you are left with nothing more than to wait and build.
