Tosha and I, the owners of E & G Getaway,LLC, met 8 years ago when our daughters began playing club volleyball together. We quickly became friends and decided to book our travel together in order to save financially. Club volleyball can get quite pricey! So we decided why pay for 2 rooms when we could stay together, save money and enjoy each others company? Not to mention, the girls enjoyed staying together, as well. So it was really a win-win in all respects!

Move forward 4 years, and both of our daughters were now playing college volleyball at different schools....one at Embry Riddle in Daytona, FL, and one at The University of Alabama. But our friendship continued with the occasional happy hour, dinners out, and phone calls over the years.

When Covid hit in early 2020, the country was shut down, and Tosha was not working regularly at this point. So she decided to work on her real estate license. I had been a stay at home mom for years. But it just so happened, that I had recently gotten my real estate license, while living in Birmingham, AL, for the previous 2years. Prior to that, I had been a stay at home mom, raising 3 kids. But when my last one went of to college, I had basically decided that it was now my turn. I had little desire to go back to teaching kids, after raising 3, And real estate was always something that I had a great deal of interest!

So when 2021 rolled around, and the country began opening back up, Tosha had already gotten her real estate license. So we decided that we would join forces and start something real estate related, together. We both wanted to work in the real estate world. But neither of us necessarily wanted to just sell real estate. When we started brainstorming, we kept referring back to when we would travel together years earlier, and the things that set certain units apart from others. The truth is, when you travel a great deal, and stay in a lot of different places, you quickly become quite the expert in the necessary components of running a rental property....you know....the little extra things that you appreciate having at your disposal, but that hotel rooms may not always have....such as a kitchen with a dining table, beach gear if your property is near the beach, board games, books to read, picnic blanket and supplies, bluetooth speaker, or even baby guards and a high chair when traveling with little ones. The knowledge we had gained over the years of traveling around the country, is eventually how the idea of E & G Getaway was created! Two moms, trying to make our mark in the world, while doing something that we primarily learned from experience.
