How to keep connected with the music of your homeland even if your life has been boring over the past 10 years

How are you getting on? I am an Russki teenager who moved to America to have a better life. In Russia I wasn't wealthy, and certainly not in the middle class. My family, not me per-se. The young people of Russia weren't dependent on money when they grew older. So, we had no choice but to find ways to make our own money. There are many strategies which resemble alcoholics soliciting money from their neighbors for their shared vodka bottles. It was almost the same. We looked for easy ways to make a few bucks so we could purchase bread. We always had food cravings.

So, I came to America. There's nothing like New York, Brooklyn or Brighton Beach. The city is quite like my home. It's loud, dirty and full of Russian languages, and the people can be rude. I spent a lot of money in Russia, mostly to go to Russian restaurants and music and books shops.

I am a music lover, and I am a huge fan of books. In the end, it's not difficult to find Russian literature via Kindle. So I stopped purchasing books in hardcopy. Additionally, I don’t have enough space in my house. My wife is almost an avid collector. Therefore I do everything I can to avoid adding to her clutter. The stacks looked nice for the first few weeks, but then they started to appear sad. I eventually moved them into my garage, which still is big enough for my belongings.


Music is a different thing. Music is one of my most favorite things to listen to. My job requires me to drive often, so I listen to tons of music. Because I am a Russian citizen, there's no way for me to enjoy new music in the USA. I'm not a fan of hip hop metal, rap, and pop. Also, all the modern stuff that kids love to dance. The old Russian music is my favourite, especially the prison-type songs. They're still very popular in Russia even after 20 years. They do put everything on Youtube nowadays. When I get home from work, I spend hours listening to Youtube music.

ytmp3 converter And so after a while I've put together a long playlist that includes more than 300 songs that I really am in love with. When I play this music on repeat day and night I'm having no trouble in getting used to music since there are 300 songs, that's a lot. However, when I want songs to play in my car, I don’t always have internet access. I'm required to have it in order to drive, and for navigation. Therefore, I prepare at home. I'm currently in the middle. I record a few songs on Youtube as MP3 files. After that I burn the MP3s to CDs using my computer. Next I drive the CD to my car and listen. The website I came across that can download a Youtube playlist and print out all the songs in it, and each song can then be converted into MP3 format and saved to my personal computer. It's then simple to convert it to an audio CD. Sometimes I'm mistaken and create a data CD, that won't play in my old car stereo. It's amazing how technology works when audio is recorded. I don't even require an internet connection to play MP3. I simply plug the CDs into the car stereo and the music from Russia blasts through Manhattan whenever I drive through.

It's easy and cheap to copy videos from Youtube to mp3 format, and then you can put them on your Smartphone. I was watching my friend connect his smartphone to a car stereo, and it was playing high-quality sound, just in 2 seconds. Also, he was able to stream Pandora radio and Spotify and it's not even requiring a lot of Internet to stream this. This sounds like something I would test. However, I'll only use free WiFi.
