The Adega Ourense delegation was established in the year 1979. As the town faced environmental problems, a group of concerned citizens decided to create a branch in the town. Then in 2003, a new organization was formed and the town's old traditions were revived. Today, the ADEGA of Ourense is one of the largest in the region. It also has a wine museum and a cultural center. The food is delicious and the wines are made in an old wine cellar.

Then, the organization was reorganized in 2003. Its mission is to protect the environment, preserve local wildlife, and improve the quality of local wine.
