Love knows no gender is a general statement applied to "love" not to an individual. Meaning, although society wants us to believe that the norm is a man/woman relationship, loves applies everywhere. This is not about labeling but about Tolerance, respect and acceptance.
Quick definition: a lesbian is involved in a Woman/Woman relationship and a Gay in a Man/Man one.
Fluidity of love though yes exists and applies to Bisexuals who we can say "win both ways".
Fluidity only applies in the case above not to all individuals. If it was the case, then we'd all be Bisexuals. Are we? are you? I don't think so.
So basically, a straight woman cannot fall for a lesbian, A lesbian cannot fall for a man, and a straight man cannot fall for a gay man.
Some may realise their sexuality afterwards you'd say. Well yes, sexuality can blossom pretty late because of religious, cultural or family backgrouds and beliefs, but it doesn't mean fluidity. It means late self conciousness and awakening of sexuality. Pretty much Jade's situation sine you claimed she was a lesbian.
Hope you agree with the interpretation ot "love knows no gender", because your show lost me on this somehow.
