YouTuber And Minecraft Streamer Technoblade, 23, Dies From Cancer

YouTuber and Minecraft streamer Technoblade has died at the age of 23 after a year-long battle with stage four cancer.



The content creator from San Francisco who kept his identity secret and only revealed his name in the final video as "Alex" rose to fame after posting videos of himself playing Minecraft online in 2013. He eventually went on to gain more than 10,000,000 subscribers.



He was diagnosed as stage four cancer in August last year and had spent most the year away form the public eye while undergoing chemotherapy.



Although Alex isn't sure what kind of cancer he had, he raised funds for sarcoma charities. He revealed in December that he had received surgery to remove an arm tumor.



Technoblade's YouTube channel uploaded a video today entitled "So long nerds", in which his father, who was not identified, shared the heartbreaking news and a posthumous farewell from the YouTube legend.



He called his son "the most amazing child" and shared an audio recording of his son. He said that if he had another hundred lives, he would choose to be Technoblade once more because those were the best years of my life.

Technoblade, who was highly private and rarely shared personal details about his life mostly posted videos about sandbox game Minecraft.



He had three younger sisters and a brother, Chris. He also had Floof the dog who was featured in his farewell clip alongside his father.

In one video, the actor revealed that his parents were divorcées and that he lived with him father, who owns a film studio.



After high school, he took a gap year before moving to Chicago where he went to college to become an English major.

After dropping out, he returned to San Francisco.



In one of his videos, he explained how he created the Tecnoblade channel for the sole purpose of gaining confidence and getting 10 million subscribers.



He quickly gained a following of millions and shared multiple clips of himself playing Minecraft with them. However, he never revealed any of his personal details to his fans.



However, he shared his shocking news of being diagnosed with cancer in August in a video titled "Where I've been", which has been viewed more than 13 million times.



In the video, he told fans he had been diagnosed with cancer after thinking he had an arm injury, revealing: 'In the last few days of July, my right arm started to hurt quite a lot.'



The content creator (seen below), who had not revealed his identity or name before his final video posted, was diagnosed last year with stage four cancer.



He thought it was a stress injury from his gaming habits, and took a few days off before realizing it wasn’t going away.
