The festival's theme, "Transnational Diaspora and Culture," will inspire discussions of immigration, identity, and the nature of border crossings. The program includes a screening of a contemporary Mexican film, El Mar La Mar, and a discussion panel moderated by Ekrem Serdar of Squeaky Wheel. The event also features a restored print of Arturo Ripstein's 1966 existentialist western, Tiempo de Morir, which features writers Gabriel Garcia-Marquez and Carlos Fuentes.
Bending Borders also aims to raise awareness of prejudgments. We all have them, whether we realize it or not. This film will help us become more self-aware of them, and develop our discussion skills. The documentary is being screened at the Burchfield Penney Art Center in New York City on September 23. This event is free and open to the public. It will be held at the film festival at the same time as the GFS.
The film is free, but you need to reserve a seat in advance. Learn More begins at 4 pm and ends at 6pm. There are other events during the festival, including live performances, lectures, and food. For more information, visit the Bending Borders website. If you're thinking of attending, you won't be disappointed. This festival is not for the faint of heart. If you're thinking of going, consider the many benefits of joining. It may just save your life!
While the Bending Borders program explores a variety of topics, one of the most relevant is prejudgments. Everyone has them and it's okay to have them. The aim of the festival is to promote self-awareness and improve our ability to talk about our prejudgments with others. There are many opportunities for the community to benefit from Bending Borders. If you're interested in participating, please contact the organizers of the festival.
The program has several films of international significance, including a documentary filmed in Szelmenc, which was divided between the Soviet Union and Europe during the Cold War. The film is a documentary about the war in the Subcarpathia region of the Czechoslovak Republic, and has been screened throughout the country. It features interviews with victims and perpetrators of violence, as well as the filmmaker's own personal experiences. A special event for children will be held at 4 pm on Sunday, and there are other events in the area.
Initially, the GFS series focused on Irish films, but today, it has evolved into a multimedia program. In addition to films, the festival includes lectures, interactive exhibits, and special screenings. The screenings take place at the Burchfield Penney Art Center, and will be supplemented by commentators, musical performances, and other events. It is free to attend all events and programs. For a deeper understanding of the film festival's mission, visit the website.
The film series, GFS, is a unique multimedia experience combining films from Ireland, the US, and the Soviet Union. It has been a staple of the festival since its inception. The event will feature film programs from more than 40 countries, with discussions based on their content. In addition to films, the festival also includes a number of short documentaries. The series also features a discussion panel moderated by Ignacio M. Sanchez Prado. The screenings, which will take place in English, will be followed by a panel of artists.
The program will feature a screening of the documentary "La Libertad Del Diablo" by Everardo Gonzalez. The film explores the violence between Mexico and the US. It features interviews with victims and perpetrators of crime. The screening will be followed by a Q&A session and discussion. If you're a filmmaker, the series should appeal to you. However, the film has no specific political agenda.
Bending Borders will be held in the heart of the Subcarpathia. The region is split between the Soviet Union and Europe. It was formerly part of Hungary, but it is now in the country of the former communist leader. The film will be screened during the event, and the audience will be invited to participate in the event. A panel discussion will follow, and a short discussion of the film will follow.
