Background story : Nam Areum lahir di tengah kehangatan sepasang kekasih yang bernama Nam Eric dan Nam Sumin. Sepasang suami istri ini juga melahirkan anak lainnya yang bernama Nam Yubi. Mereka berempat hidup bahagia sampai pada tahun 2014, ayah dan ibunya yang menyandang pekerjaan sebagai CEO dan manajer di salah satu mall ternama di Seoul mendapat perlakuan kasar hingga keduanya terbunuh. Para polisi mengclaim kejadian ini sebagai sebuah bunuh diri, sedangkan Areum sama sekali tak percaya kalau kedua orang tuanya mati karena bunuh diri.
Setelah ditelusuri dalam dalam, ternyata benar kalau kedua orang tuanya dibunuh oleh saingan mereka yang bernama Eddie. Hingga kabar bahwa Areum menyelidiki kasus ini terdengar oleh Eddie, lelaki itu langsung meminta anak buahnya untuk mengejar dan membunuh Areum serta Yubi. Tak terima mendapat perilakuan seperti ini, ia memutuskan untuk mengajak adiknya pindah ke kota lain setidaknya untuk mendapat perlindungan agar tidak terbunuh seperti kedua orang tuanya.
