WoW 3.3.5a Download - Wrath Of The Lich King Client

Found a WotLK private server to play on and need to download the client to get started? We have compiled a list with multiple download options so that users can easily find the best option for them.



Torrents



Blizzard is reportedly filing copyright strikes with ISPs when people use torrents to access older clients. There are a couple of different options to help with this, we recommend using either a cloud based torrent client such as Bittorent or a VPN (Proton VPN is a solid choice, they have a decent free tier also).

We have provided a guide for downloading and configuring the software to connect to your server.



Do not use the launcher to open the game. Instead, make sure that you use Wow.exe in the World of Warcraft folder.



1) Download the WotLK client (6.35GB)



FilePlanet provides a safe alternative to torrents, which can be modified in some manner. You can download the original client full-size on FilePlanet. You can either use the built-in zip extractor or a third-party program such as 7zip to extract the client.



2) Install the Game



Remember where you installed the game as we'll be going there later. To avoid any issues, the installer will attempt to install the latest patches of the game after it finishes. Additionally, you should delete the desktop icon that was created as it will run the launcher instead of Wow.exe as noted above.



3) Update your realmlist.wtf



Browse to the folder you installed the game. Then, go into Data. You will find a subfolder named after your language, such as enUS/enGB. For example in my case it's: D:GamesWoW 3.3.5DataenUS. You can delete everything and add the realmlist information of the private server you wish to play on.



This can be generally found on their website, additionally, we also list all realmlist data for the servers listed here at DKPminus. If you look at our Warmane private servers entry, you will see that your realmlist.wtf should be empty except for the following: set realmlist logon.warmane.com



4) Update client to 3.3.5a. - Patch List and Downloads



Now that you have the game installed and the client setup properly you need to update the client to the version that almost all private servers use. This page will help you update to 3.3.5a. GRN ONLINE It lists all the patches made during WotLK. Mirrors are also available for download. Note that you must apply patches in order from the lowest version to the highest.

5) All done! Start it up with Wow.exe and get started!
