Minecraft and the Purge are Joined at Last

Minecraft and The Purge are separate for many good reasons. Although the primo sandbox game allows for a lot more freedom, it is still an activity primarily intended for children, so The Purge does not necessarily fit in. However, the internet can't be controlled. Prestalive Therefore, someone has created an online video that combines both.

We're not saying you shouldn't try to recreate The Purge in Minecraft. Everyone enjoys the game in their own way. Take the person who's nearly done mining the entire Minecraft map after five years, or the people who recreated MS Paint using Redstone. A PC that was inspired by the Nintendo Wii was built. It runs Minecraft in stunning 4K. It's got something for all. This is one of the most bizarre, yet still very enjoyable videos we've ever seen.

Forge Labs, which creates some of the most bizarre long-term challenges in games, got a few Minecrafters together to spend one week in Minecraft creating amazing homes and living their most enjoyable lives. The Purge rules were put in place after the week was over. This meant that everyone could do whatever they wanted, but, most importantly it was illegal to commit crimes.

Their latest video is just under two hours, which is quite a commitment. But, it's in between being incredibly interesting and deeply disturbing. It's also a very real look at how people could behave if something were to go wrong.

One of the most fascinating aspects of this set of rules was the fact that players who died before the purge began would lose one heart for all time. This meant that, even though players were encouraged to upgrade their own equipment but it always came at a cost because the death of a player was detrimental. It's a great show to watch, and we definitely recommend it to be played in the background if you're at work and perhaps getting annoyed with work to the point you feel a bit sour.
