Minecraft Gets Twitch-y with the new Partnership For Integrated Streaming

Twitch and Mojang have joined forces to provide an integrated streaming experience for the indie phenomenon Minecraft The two companies announced this partnership at MineCon today. Players on PC and Mac with a Twitch account will be able to easily stream their games to their Twitch.tv channels "soon," according to the press announcement.



Matthew DiPietro (Vice President of Marketing at Twitch) stated in the same press release that Minecraft had "struck an extremely strong chord" with Twitch users. The popularity of Minecraft is growing and it shows that people are enjoying watching video games, even though they're not among the most popular games for eSports. If Twitch allows the broadcast of live games you can expect a memorable event for both players and viewers.



This announcement is only for Mac and PC users. However, it's important to keep in mind that the Xbox One will get its own Minecraft version and Twitch will be integrated into Microsoft's next generation of consoles. There is a possibility for Twitch streaming from an Xbox One version of the game. Unless, of course, an evil creature appears and takes everything away. Sssssssss.

Twitch Announces Minecraft Partnership at MINECON 2013



Mojang's Minecraft PC and MAC users will soon be able broadcast their games to Twitch with a click of a button



SAN FRANCISCO 2nd November 2013 Twitch, the world’s most popular video platform and community for gamers, announced today at the sold-out MineCon convention an agreement of partnership with Mojang to provide broadcasting functionality for Minecraft. Twitch integration into Minecraft's PC and MAC versions of Minecraft allows players to broadcast directly to their Twitch channels. Soon, Twitch functionality is available.



Mojang released Minecraft on May 17, 2009. Since the time, it has become the most popular PC sandbox adventure game with more than 13 million units sold in sales on PC with more than 33 million units sold in sales across all platforms. It's also been the recipient of numerous prestigious awards including five Game Developers Choice Awards at the 2011 Game Developers Conference. This is why MINECON 2013 Mojang's annual Minecraft convention has been a huge success, with more than 7,500 attendees eager to discover what's next for one of the most innovative games of all time and to meet the team behind it.
