Mojang has launched its Minecraft Realms subscription service in North America, offering hosting and setup for multiplayer Minecraft worlds starting at just $13 per month.

Mojang says that Minecraft Realms is particularly valuable for parents. It makes it simple to create a child's Sandbox, and also limit access to only invited users. The cost of a subscription also includes an automatic backup feature, which allows players to undo unwanted alterations and restore their worlds to their previous saved state.
Up to 10 players can join a Minecraft Realms-hosted world simultaneously The service will host minigames as well as other exclusive in-game events regularly. Discounts are available to those who sign up for the three- or six-month subscription package. The service is currently exclusive to the PC version of Minecraft but support for Minecraft: Pocket Edition is planned for a forthcoming update. [Image: Mojang]
