Minecraft Map has Finally been Completely Mined after 5 Years

The Minecraft map is massive and is difficult to wrap your mind (and pick and shovel) around. Most players will build an entirely new world before they can see the old one. They'll then cleanse it of any diamonds, redstone or other valuables before moving onto new terrain. Minthical YouTuber has a more thorough approach.



Although we typically write about amazing Minecraft constructions, such as those recreating MS paint, or the mystical transformative villages, it's more rare that a great Minecraft map is worthy of writing about. Official maps are fine but the IKEA map speaks for itself. This map is unique because it doesn't focus on the things that are being created , but rather on what's being destroyed.



Minthical is a YouTuber who has been mining every block on a single map for the past five years. In terms of reference, that's more than 45 million blocks. Minthical streamed live on August 12th to demonstrate how close they are to finishing this world-ending challenge. In the stream they talk about how many blocks they've mined, as well as the challenges of doing so and also some important tips on the scale. 53VV It's a great showcase for those who are obsessed with stats.
