The Tate said about the painting "New York in 1920 was an ever-changing and bustling city."
"Its rising railways, skyscrapers and other infrastructures symbolized the energy of the modern urban area. This has inspired Christopher Nevinson, a British artist, to paint Soul of the Soulless City in the year 1920.
Six more Tate Worlds maps will be released in the coming year, focusing on themes such as 'Play', 'Destruction' and 'Fantasy', inspired by well-known paintings, such as John Singer Sargent's Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose, 1885-6; Peter Blake's The Toy Shop, 1962; John Martin's, The Destruction of Pompeii and Herculaneum 1822; and Cornelia Parker's, Cold Dark Matter: An Exploded View 1991.

"Starting at London Bridge, visit historic sites like The Tower of London; climb the chimney known as 'The Queens Pipe' in St Katharine's Dock; then plunge into the forgotten river Nickinger that flows beneath the city, as you search for Monsieur Derain's pigments in the Tate's collection.
