Veloren, the Open-source Multiplayer Voxel RPG, has an Important Release

You might be interested in an open-source, quality-free game. Veloren is an online voxel RPG that was inspired by games like Cube World, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Dwarf Fortress, and Minecraft. Welcome to my hut Created in the fancy Rust programming language, Veloren has grown massively over this last year, and is slowly evolving into what could become the next truly big FOSS game.



This release contains some of the following:



- New Skills for Climbing speed and climbing Cost Pickaxes (can be used to find gems and mine weak rocks) You can now jump out of rolls to get an extra jump boost Dungeons now have a variety of stairs. Trades now display the price of items in tooltips. Attacks are now accompanied by sound effects when they hit the target. The crafting menu tabs have been added. Auto camera settings making it easier to play with just one hand. Topographic map options - Search bars for social and crafting window - Villagers and guards are now spawned with potions, and are able to make use of them. - Combat music in the dungeons if they are close to enemies. - One handed weapons can now be used and found in the world - Players can now opt-in to server-authoritiative physics in gameplay settings. - Sort inventory button - Crafting stations in towns Missing translations can be displayed in English. Large birds NPCS are now available. You can now block melee weapons and parry with melee weapon - Glider lift is calculated based on dimension (currently the same for all)Towns can now only play specific music tracks. It is now possible to place markers for your map that are custom made - Mountain peak markers and lake markers are now available on the map. - A minimap mode has been added to the game that displays the terrain inside the same chunk. Chat tabs - NPC's can now hear certain sounds



This is a small portion of the long and extensive changelog for the 0.10.0 version.



Download it from the Veloren website. It is possible to download it in various ways, including a direct-download with an app that keeps it updated, Flatpak, Snap, and many more options. If you do choose to download it today there's a celebration for the release on the official server It looks like it could be very enjoyable and the download is quite small still too so it won't take up a lot of space.
