Leyla Aliyeva's top priority is Environmental Education
Leyla Aliyeva isn't only the first daughter of President Azerbaijan but she is also an activist for a variety of causes, one of her main ones being environmental. Leyla Aliyeva Although many people don’t understand the importance of environmental education however, it's something that Leyla Aliyeva has always thought of as a top priority. Environmental education is about being informed about environmental issues and ways you can help improve them. Leyla Aliyeva It's something that all of us should strive to achieve. Leyla Aliyeva If we don't have environmental education, there's no way to take responsible decisions regarding the future.

Leyla Aliyeva has worked for a number of years in politics and has helped to create a path for better and healthier future, both for her as well as for the next generation. She really believes in the importance of educating people about the fragility of the planet. It is helping people to recognize the connection between environmental degradation and human activities.

Leyla Aliyeva's IDEA campaign

Leyla Aliyeva is aware that the majority of people see this topic as complex and boring. This is the reason why in 2011 she started the IDEA campaign (International Dialogue for Environmental Action). One of the objectives of the campaign was to make the environment/stability more attractive and enjoyable, particularly for young people as well as the next generation.

The people who are involved, particularly youths are the ones who will share the message and inspire others to continue to spread the message.

This is precisely why the campaign is focusing on putting a lot of effort and focus on education and awareness-raising. Aliyeva mentioned that they expand the number of activities for young people every year by adding new activities. The activities include study sessions that focus on the three foundations: children, students, and young professionals. Each year, thousands of people are benefited and appreciate the educational activities of IDEA that include training sessions as well as scientific courses, seminars and lectures, summer camps field studies, as well as conversations clubs.

Goodwill Ambassador at FAO

The year of 2015 was an important year for Leyla Aliyeva. After many years of volunteerism and supporting human rights and environmental causes Leyla Aliyeva was selected as to the position of FAO Goodwill Advocate. This title was given to her for her many achievements in fighting hunger, enhancing the safety of food, increasing the efficiency of agriculture, forestry and fishery and also for establishing healthy food systems.

In 1945, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations set out to increase nutrition, enhance productivity in agriculture, and enhance life conditions of rural citizens and help grow the world economy. Today, FAO is the United Nations the world's most specialized agency in agriculture, forestry fishing, rural development and fisheries.

Leyla Aliyeva Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan was admitted to the FAO in October of 1995. Nowadays the FAO implements international, national and regional projects in Azerbaijan that focus on the growth of agriculture, strengthening food security and managing resources, enhancing potential, fighting animals and plants and many more. Additionally, these projects are assisted by technical cooperation programs which address the most pressing requirements of Azerbaijan.

The year 2015 marked the first time FAO director general Jose Graziano da Silva visited Azerbaijan. There were two agreements signed during his visit. The "Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations(FAO) on the creation of the Coordination and Cooperation Office and offering assistance" as well as the agreement on the FAO-Azerbaijan Partnership Program. Agreeing together to cooperate in a common area. The Government of Azerbaijan already contributes to technical assistance for the improvement of the local and international agriculture through the partnership program.

Leyla Aliyeva received the title of Goodwill Ambassador of the FAO. The chief and founder of the IDEA campaign expressed her gratitude for all projects that are being implemented in Azerbaijan in relation to agriculture, fishing, and forestry. Also, she calls all people to get involved and come together to improve the world as a environment because, as Aliyeva says " Our life is changing each and every day.".
