Leyla Aliyeva is adamant that environmental education is her top priority
Leyla is not just the daughter of Azerbaijan's very first president, but she's also an activist on many issues, one being the environmental. Many people don’t know the meaning of environmental education is, but it was always an important issue for Leyla. Environmental education refers to the ability to become aware of and contribute to the improvement of our environmental conditions. This is something that we must try to do. Environmental education is crucial to make responsible choices regarding the future.

Leyla Aliyeva Leyla Aliyeva was a campaigner for many years and participated in building a path for an eco-friendly and healthier future for ourselves and the future generations. She believes that education is vital to understanding the earth's vulnerabilities. This is helping people see the direct relationship between environmental degradation and human activities.

Leyla Aliyeva's IDEA project

Leyla Aliyeva is aware that most people perceive the subject as difficult and boring. Leyla Aliyeva This is the reason she came up with the IDEA campaign in the year 2011. One of her primary goals was to make her issue of stability and the environment more entertaining and engaging particularly for children.

In an interview with Equinox.com Aliyeva discussed some of the challenges she faced on her environmental journey. However, she mainly talked about how these obstacles led to progress and ultimately brought about incredible satisfaction and success. "From day one, [theIDEA campaign was a success." IDEA campaign prioritized education as the most effective way to get people's hearts minds so that they will commit to protecting the planet and being responsible towards it. People, particularly young people are the ones who will share the message and motivate others to take it further.

This is why the campaign is investing the most time and effort in education and raising awareness. Aliyeva said that each year, the program is enriched by adding new activities for study that cover the three pillars, which are students, young professionals, and kids as young as five years old. IDEA's educational programs consist of training, scientific courses seminars, lectures vacation camps, discussions, and fieldstudies sessions, are appreciated by hundreds of people every year.

Goodwill Ambassador for FAO

Leyla Aliyeva was adamant that 2015 would be a milestone year for her. After many years of volunteerism and supporting environmental and humanitarian activities, she was elected to be a FAO Goodwill Advocate. She was honored for her contribution to food security, combating hunger, establishing healthy food systems, as well as increasing the efficiency of agriculture, fishery and forestry.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) was founded in 1945, had as its main objective to increase levels of nutrition, improve agricultural productivity, better the lives of rural people and help in the growth of the world economy. The FAO is the United Nations’ largest specialized agency, and also the one responsible for rural development, agriculture, and fishing.

Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan was admitted to the FAO as an associate member in October of 1995. Today FAO is involved in FAO is engaged in implementing worldwide, national as well as regional projects in Azerbaijan. 2015 was the year of the visit by Jose Graziano da Silva to FAO. This was accompanied by the "Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations' (FAO), on the establishment of the Coordination and Cooperation Office and technical assistance" and the Agreement on FAO–Azerbaijan Partnership Program. Agreeing to work with each other for a common matter. The Government of Azerbaijan already contributes to technical assistance for the development of international and local agriculture by way of the partnership program.
