Minecraft Gets Twitch-y Thanks to new Partnership For Integrated Streaming

Twitch and Mojang have joined forces to provide an integrated streaming experience in the indie game Minecraft the two companies announced at MineCon today. Minecraft-server-list.Co Players on PC and Mac with an active Twitch account will be able stream their games to their Twitch.tv channels "soon," according to an announcement in a press announcement.



Matthew DiPietro (Vice President of Marketing at Twitch) stated in the same press release, that Minecraft has "struck a very strong chord" with Twitch users. Its popularity is increasing and shows that people enjoy watching video games, even though they're not the most popular eSports games. When Twitch allows you to broadcast gameplay live you can expect a memorable occasion for both players as well as viewers.



Although this announcement is aimed at PC and Mac users, it's important to note that the Xbox One will be getting its own version of Minecraft, and Twitch is integrated into Microsoft's next-gen system. There is a possibility for Twitch streaming from an Xbox One version of the game. If, of course, an evil creature appears and takes everything away. Sssssssss.

Twitch Announces Minecraft Partnership at MINECON 2013



PC and MAC gamers of Mojang's Minecraft will soon be capable of broadcasting their games on Twitch by pressing a button



SAN FRANCISCO2 November, 2013- Twitch is the world's most popular video platform and community for gamers, today announced at the sold-out MineCon convention the formation of a partnership with Mojang to bring broadcasting capability to Minecraft. The integration of Twitch into Minecraft's PC and MAC versions of the game that is the most popular allows players to broadcast directly to their Twitch channels. The Twitch function will be available soon.



Mojang launched Minecraft on May 17, 2009. Since then, it has been the top selling PC Sandbox adventure game, with more than 13 million units sold in sales on PC with more than 33 million units in sales across all platforms. It's also the recipient of numerous important awards, including five Game Developers Choice Awards at the 2011 Game Developers Conference. MINECON 2013, Mojang’s annual Minecraft convention, was a huge success. Twitch has seen its popularity grow, with Twitch's Top 20 Games page displaying it each month. This has been the trend since Twitch launched in 2011.
