Amazon is working on a phone which will come with a 3D glass-free screen. It is expected to launch in June.



According to Wall Street Journal reports, the device will use retina tracking technology to make images on the smartphone's screen appear to float above it like a Hologram and appear three-dimensional from all angles'



The handset will be revealed in June, and will be launched in September, according to the report.

The most talked about launch by Amazon was the Fire TV box. It comes with:



Quad-Core Processor & Graphics Engine



2GB of memory 4x the memory capacity of the Apple TV



Streams are in High Definition 1080p With Dolby Digital Plus Surround Sound



Box is 0.7 inches thin



The remote on Fire TV is bluetooth



Voice search with microphone on the remote



The average cost of paid games is $1.85



This would put it directly in concurrence with Apple's iPhone 6, which is also expected for sale in September.



Ming-Chi Kuo is a KGI Securities analyst, believes that the company will launch a smartphone.



We predict that Amazon (US) will launch its own smartphone in 3-6 months, using the same hardware strategy as used for its e-reader as well as tablet,' he recently wrote.



"The supply chain will begin with the stocking of materials in Q2 2014 to be used in production."



It's just a few weeks since the company announced Fire TV which is a set top box that doubles as a game console.



The box allows users to download TV and films, along with applications.



To play games, users can use a remote, or purchase a game controller for $40.



Mike Frazzini from Amazon Games said each game will be priced like an app for phones, which will cost around $2.

Games available at launch will include Minecraft Driving game Asphalt 8 and first person shooter Sev Zero, created by the games studio double Helix Microsoft bought recently.



Amazon's Peter Larsen stated that the company was looking to simplify the box and come up with a new idea for it.



He said, "It's incredibly powerful and it's incredibly simple."



Amazon will be in direct competition with Apple and Google in this move. Apple is expected to announce its new iPhone in September.



Jeff Bezos (Amazon.com CEO and the Founder) stated that Fire TV is a tiny device with massive specs, tons of content and a price that is a steal.



The service is based on Amazon's Prime TV service and film on demand service along with Hulu Plus.



The device, which retails at $99, is targeted at Amazon and Roku's products along with Google's Chromecast.



The company said it is planning to expand its offerings in the future.



Amazon already provides movies and TV shows on demand for free to customers who are members of Amazon's premium delivery service Prime in both the UK and US.
