Entertainment by way of the on board lectures then on deck with a marvel group of likeminded birders, this was an journey that offered all with recollections that will last a lifetime.
Giving wings to commendable project like this Mouse-free Marion, is truly admirable. This was a fantastic initiative to address the mouse drawback at Marion Island. I actually loved the suggestions from the members. S properly organized occasion that attracted International guests. Very good for South African publicity.
This raises awareness and generates revenue for all of south Africa’s tourism industries. For this cause I vote for Birdlife South Africa. Although we did not make it, friends did, and marveled at what an exquisite an experience it had been. Birdlife South Africa needs to be recommended on the large quantity of effort they put into not only trips like ‘Flock to Marion’ island, but to conservation in general.

Seeing my first Wandering Albatross compares with being present on the start of my son! Amazing profiling of South African birding and sea mammals on the Flock to Marion, significantly for international birders. The awareness that was raised for a Mouse free Marion, together with the comradery and new friendships that was shaped, is why BLSA deserves this award. Total commitment from BLSA to avian conservation should be applaud.
To see so many various sorts of Albatrosses and different sea birds was unforgettable. The Flock to Marion cruise with MSC cruises, organised by Birdlife South Africa, was a phenomenal expertise, bringing people from all over the world together, and showcasing South Africa, and the incredible potential this nation has. I was so proud to be South African, and part of the voyage, and to participate in elevating funds for such a worthy cause. A special voyage into the the deep blue sea with wonderful sightings of the birds and mammals inhabiting it, while enjoying the comfort of professional providers on a nicely run ship. Was considerably apprehensive about going through the Roaring Forties, however oh, what an experience seeing Prince Edward Island via the mist and the tons of of seabirds gliding previous us.
