Apple TV Gets Better for Cord-cutters and Cable tV Subscribers

Today at its huge WWDC keynote, Apple announced a few improvements to the Apple TV platform. The app functions much like the hardware remote. It features navigation using touch and Siri voice search. You can also utilize the keyboard to input and control the accelerometer. The hardware itself is more similar to the remote. A new feature known as "Live Tune In" will allow users to switch between live streaming channels such as ESPN, Disney, and numerous others. Automatic App Downloads allow you to install universal applications on your iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV.

Apple has even addressed the issue of signing in to all of these networks TV Everywhere apps with Single sign-on. Just sign in with your information once, and you'll be authenticated in all of the apps that support it. This is applicable for Apple TV and also mobile iOS devices.

Once an account is signed in to one network app, any Apple TV app from participating pay-TV providers will log him into all supported apps that require authentication.

In the single sign-on process users can access an overview of all the authenticated applications that a pay-TV provider provides to help them find and download all of their preferred video channels.

Any application on TV networks can benefit from this technology to allow a single sign-on and simplify the process for their viewers.

Single sign-on is compatible with both iOS and Apple TV.
