Texas Hold Em Tournament Strategy - Not Just The Blinds
Another trick is to let your opponents take each other out. Play big hands when you have them at the beginning, just to keep your stack alive, but don't risk it all unless you know you've got the nuts (best hand possible with the showing cards). This way, you'll let your opponents feast on each other while you sit back and collect chips now and then. Then when there's only a few left, you'll go to work, completely changing your betting strategy, and no one will be able to touch you.

This is what makes all-in such a powerful strategy in Texas Holdem poker, but also what makes it such a dangerous one. Go all-in and you can be finished on one turn of a card.

My confusion came back as I looked into different poker stars and read more and more. After a while I realized that there were too many differing strategies out there. It seems like they would all work for one reason or another. So how was I to craft MY own strategy? Take bits and pieces from each and use what worked for me? I didn't know what to do, and a confused mind does nothing.

Don't go all-in on a stone cold bluff. Always make sure that even though you might not have the best hand, you have a chance of making it with the cards that are still to be dealt. Put another way, leave yourself with "outs".

Sometimes they'll even mention it in the chat box. It can be tempting to bet just to irritate them even further but that's useless. They are already upset and probably playing poorly. If you don't have a piece of the board and suspect you're up against a spite-caller, don't make the c-bet.
