Communication issues are a major problem. It's a hazard we've have created. It begins moments after the first contact and then ends with an incredible explosion...
The biggest error we make is that, for no reason whatsoever, we nearly always assume that we are in complete agreement with both sides' expectations without trying to pick our partner's brain to figure out what his expectations from us are. One thing, however, that we are in complete alignment with our partner on - he also doesn't miss an opportunity to widen this expectation gap .... We don't even need anyone to alert us of the imminent conflict.
There are many potential causes of miscommunications. Many of them stem from the differences in our personalities. People with square personalities are more likely to miscommunicate frequently with liberal personalities. Affirmative personalities might have difficulty aligning expectations with passive individuals. This is easy to recognize as everyone can tell squared from liberal and passive from aggressive.

The unexpected intrusion into his personal space is slightly intimidating. So he fixes this zone-invasion-problem by making a gentle step backward. But the problem is that he did the Half step outside of his comfortable zone ...... The Half is aware that the Full was making an innocent mistake, so he makes another step backward.. However, the Half soon becomes upset and starts to make a bigger, more aggressive step.. They aren't sure why, but they aren't using the correct terminology and don't know how to explain the situation. They go to the wrong places. They could have saved themselves in the event that they knew the difference between Full and Half.
