It's always astonishing to admire an awesome Minecraft creation. Minecraft isn't a game about inheriting a strange shape-shifting gun and having to fight against evil fridges, but it makes for a rather simple description of Control. This is a great comparison too, because today we're going to look at this incredible Control-inspired Minecraft build.

Ominous_Hippopotamus on Reddit, who is also the owner of our most favorite handle of all time, posted an image of a hardcore base they've been developing inspired by the brutalist beauty of The Oldest House from Control. The Oldest House is a strange and wonderful place, filled with bizarre trinkets or weapons, or even beings from other realms. The whole place is best described as unsettling, and the video that Ominous Hippopotamus put up of their base captures that wonderfully.
Although we only have an incredibly brief glimpse of the base, it is very real. The visitor is welcomed by the wide atrium and welcoming plants. However, the video turns around and exposes the bizarre geometry that extends out and creates a twisted space.
It's a fantastic recreation of the area. While it's unlikely the Hiss will be causing havoc, it's a reminder of how much care and consideration is put into all of the Minecraft builds. It's clear that a lot of effort and time went into making it feel authentic. The lighting is especially impressive.
It's this exact focus on detail that players make use of to create things such as the Ghostbusters theme tune based on Redstone or the data pack that allows you to play with Breath of the Wild abilities. It could be the same kind of love that drives people to transform bees into Steve too, but we're not sure about this.
