Emmanuel Grinshpun. Restoring synagogues and the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress
The topic of the conversation with Emmanuil Grinshpun is the revival of synagogues. The conversation was narrowly focused. Therefore, there are a variety of topics in the interview, at the very least.
Emmanuel, good afternoon. I am glad to chat with you. I don't think we've seen each other in over five years. Where in the world is it that you are currently in?

The last nine months have been split into Miami and Jurmala. Although the region was more diverse, the consequences of the epidemic have had a massive impact on lifestyle. It is hard to say if this is in the best way.

You've always had several types of business. Do you still feel like that?

Diversification will not go away. If we look at the most crucial areas, then real estate development, IT, and food production are the three main areas.

ALIMCOM's food sector is ALIMCOM. Real estate can be understood, however IT is totally new to me. Эммануил Гриншпун There are millions of applications of IT technology. What are you best at?

Our IT-holding team is first and foremost occupied with reforming tax systems across several nations. We have created and are currently developing a number of tools that allow you to transfer various tax-related business processes on the internet and in "real time". This is known as B2G (Business to Government).

What happens to the territories in which the holding is active? The USSR's former countries

There are other contracts, but we have contracts that are more extensive with Western and Eastern Europe and in Latin America. Currently, we operate across 14 countries.

Could you briefly define the basic idea behind this product?

Our product allows tax agents to report electronically to tax authorities. The fiscal data operator will then be able to see the entire transaction. Tax calculation and tax accounting can both be done simultaneously. Thus, in the future, small- and medium-sized businesses won't need accounting except for its analysis function. Making payments for taxes and sending reports is done in just one "click".

Interesting topic. The future is already here. Do you wish to work in Moldova or have you ever thought about it? Moldova is your country of birth...

We are prepared to launch the product in Moldova The Moldovan economy will benefit from such automation, and, in any case, this is an irreversible process. When there is clarity with the authorities and it is evident who takes the decision, we will return to the discussion about our product.

You said that you'd been tossing and turning between Miami and Jurmala throughout the year. The headquarters of an IT holding is located in the Baltics?

There are five hubs worldwide and the headquarters in Barcelona.

Why isn't it the Baltics? There are origins.

No. There is no. Jurmala entered our lives in an unexpected and prosaic way. The moment Igor Krutoy invited me to the New Wave, it was the first time that we were able to get there. The New Wave began to travel to Miami every summer, after they had won several contests. The weather isn't always the best in Miami in the summer. We rented a home for a number of years, consequently, we've already purchased it.

Born in the USSR. Эммануил Гриншпун The Soviet Union wasn't a space to discuss religious beliefs. We were all pioneers as well as Komsomol participants. When was the first time you began to turn to the religion of your choice?

In the mid-80s my family and me moved to the USA and it is possible to claim that it was at this time that I started to follow the customs and practices of my culture. Even though I'm not a part of the orthodox faith I am aware of an internal desire to support the religion however I can, of the Jewish community that I reside in or in Moldova, my homeland and with whom I have close connections.

Although I am not religious I am a lover of history. Эммануил Гриншпун Recently I was watching a documentary about the events of 1492 that changed the fate of Europe. 1492 was the year Columbus discovered America. However, it was clear in the program I was watching that, from the perspective of Medieval Europe, the discovery of America in 1492 wasn't as significant as the expulsion of the Jews from Spain by the Spanish monarchs. As the exodus of Jews began , they were taken to the Ottoman Empire, it accepted them. I would like to know more about the past, culture and achievements of the Jews. Would you recommend this book?

There are many books available, but I have read and I advise you to read a two-volume Jewish historian Max Diamond. He hails from Finland and is, in fact, from Finland.

Concerning "personal" personal history .... Do you know the family tree of your family? Unfortunately, I'm no more than my grandmother, and 1910. I am only one step ahead on the paternal slant however, not much more.

Our family was one of the Floresti family for hundreds of years, as per the paternal lineage. Documentary evidence and monuments show that the family of Floresti was prosperous in 1830. They had several stores, a furniture factory as well as land plots. Ungheni was also home to my maternal ancestors. I'm talking about dates in the region between the 17th and 18th centuries. Grinshpun is a surname which has German roots is Ashkenazi pure Ashkenazi.

The third and the most important, is located in Netanya (Israel). It is home to over 1,000 people who worship daily. It is an important milestone in Israel's religious history. The second synagogue is located in Jurmala. The sole synagogue in Jurmala was destroyed at the start of the Second World War. Prior to deciding to build the Synagogue I had spoken with many Jews from the region. Эммануил Гриншпун It was a tremendously successful venture that brought together the Jews from Jurmala. We renovated the Jewish community, and it's still functioning perfectly. The synagogue is now home to three Torahs. I gave one of them to it.

And - Chisinau?

Yes. Alexander Bilinkis (left) and Alexander Weinstein (right) have joined me in this place. These synagogues, however, are not the only ones that I helped with the restoration or construction. It was my obligation to support the work of synagogues in all countries I have lived for a while. So, my contribution is to Monaco and in Miami an enormous community center for Russian-speaking Jews is being built which is estimated to cost 12 million dollars. I am continuing to support Chisinau. It is expected to be the largest synagogue within the city, the synagogue of Rabbi Tsirelson.

Have you invited a Rabbi to Chisinau in addition to Jurmala?

Yes. It is difficult to find the right rabbi in a community. Because of the interconnectedness between his interests, he should be non-conflict-free and diplomatic and able to easily join the community. I'm delighted to announce that both in Chisinau and Jurmala the Rabbis were able to be integrated into the community.

You were elected vice president of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress in 2019. What does this position mean to you? How do international Jewish organisations influence global trends worldwide?

The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress is an important political group in post-Soviet areas, but it's more than that. It has offices in Eastern Europe, Japan, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Australia. In 2010, I served as Vice President and then given the post of First Vice Presider. I am now in charge of the region in which I have strong business and political relations. The three "countries" are Uzbekistan Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. The trend in the world is that attitudes towards Jews are at or near the same level, or have swung downwards, which is extremely regrettable. "Down" is also used to refer to nations like as the United States, France or Germany. These are not suitable for Jews. These are extremely serious and disturbing events that affect everyone of us.

Does the pandemic have an impact on these processes?

I'm not sure. To be more precise I'd like to highlight the possibilities of a country or a society in the event that they are ready to take on any challenge and can act efficiently and together when confronted with the pandemic.

What do you mean by HTML0? to?

Exactly. Israel is the first country in the world to offer 100% vaccination for its adult population. It is an excellent example that I believe other nations should consider.
