Pastor Chris Oyakhilome (or Chris Oyakhilome) was born on December 7, 1973 and was the son of Tim Oyakhilome as the first child. Following his primary and secondary education, he attended Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, Edo State, Nigeria where he obtained the BSc in Architecture.


AAU has also conferred on him with an honourary Doctor of Science. He is also a recipient of an honorary divinity degree from Benson Idahosa University. The Reverend Chris was married to Anita Obhodaghe once, and they have two children.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome began his journey in ministry while at AAU. The Believers' LoveWorld fellowship, now Believers LoveWorld Incorporated, was in the beginning known as Youths For Christ.

YFC rapidly grew and eventually became the largest campus fellowship. In 1989, Pastor Chris established Believers LoveWorld Incorporated (BLW), alongside Christ Embassy. Chris Oyakhilome Family Lagos is the location of the church. The Believer's LoveWorld has millions of followers and associates all over the world.

Through its 2002 environment for miracles program, BLW was the most prominent Christian ministry on TV in Africa. They stopped airing this programme in May 2004 after the former president of Nigeria- President Olusegun Obasanjo declared that miracles shouldn't be allowed to continue by the churches.

The Future Africa Leaders Foundation was founded to increase and investigate the leadership potentials Africans. The foundation supports and celebrates youngsters Africans who have shown leadership skills by making a positive impact within their generation. They do this through education and guiding youngsters and encouraging youth empowerment.

The foundation recognizes these young leaders by presenting them with awards named The Next Africa Leaders’ Awards. The InnerCity Mission for children is a faith-based non-governmental Organisation (NGO). The NGO was established in 2005 to help the poor, needy, orphaned and vulnerable children who are poor all over the world..

Children and their families are supported by the foundation's sustainable and participatory interventions. These include programs for childcare including child development programmes, as well as strengthening of families.
