YouTuber and Minecraft Streamer Technoblade 23, Dies from Cancer

YouTuber and Minecraft streamer Technoblade has died at the age of 23 after a long battle with cancer stage four.



The creator of the content, from San Francisco, who kept his identity closely guarded and only revealed his name in his final video, titled 'Alex', shot to fame after posting videos of himself playing Minecraft on YouTube in 2013 - becoming a household name after accumulating more than 10 million subscribers.



He was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in August. He was able to spend the majority of the year away from the media being treated for cancer.



While it is not known what form of cancer Alex was suffering from however, he was able to raise money for charities fighting sarcoma - and in December Alex announced that he'd undergone surgery to remove a tumor in his arm.



In a video posted to Technoblade's YouTube channel this morning that was titled "So long nerds," his father who's name is not known was able to share the sad announcement of his son's passing with his many fans as well as an emotional farewell message from the famous YouTube star.



Calling his son 'the most amazing kid', he then shared an audio of his son, who said"If I could have another hundred lives, I believe I'd choose to be Technoblade repeatedly as those were the most wonderful years of my life.'

Technoblade was a highly private person who rarely shared his personal information. He mostly uploaded videos about the sandbox game Minecraft.



He had three younger sisters and one brother who was named Chris as well as a dog named Floof which was in his farewell video alongside his father.



In one of his videos, he explained that his parents divorced and he lived with his father, who owns a movie studio.



After graduating from high school, he took an unplanned break before moving to Chicago where he went to college to pursue an English major.

After dropping out after a few days, he returned to San Francisco.



In one of his videos He explained the process of creating the Tecnoblade channel with the sole purpose of gaining confidence and gaining 10 million subscribers.



He quickly amassed an audience of millions by sharing numerous videos of himself playing Minecraft, although he never revealed his name or face to his fans.



In August, he shared the shocking news of his cancer diagnosis in a video titled 'Where I've been'. The video has been watched more than 13 million times.



In the video, he told his fans that he was diagnosed with cancer after he thought there was an injury to his arm, revealing: 'In the last few days of July my right arm began to hurt quite a bit.'



The creator of the content (seen left) who had not disclosed his name or face prior to the time his final video was posted, was diagnosed with stage four cancer in the last year.



Thinking it was a stress injury from his constant gaming, he decided to take some time off - before realizing that it wasn't going to go away.
