Telegram improved accessibility

Telegram is a popular end-to-end encrypted messaging app. Recently, we released an update to our Android app to make the service more accessible to people with disabilities. 飞机中文 includes new features like improved accessibility and better support for non-Latin characters.

Content is at the heart of Telegram. That's why we built it, and the tool you use to chat with friends, family, and colleagues every day. We want to make sure that everyone can access Telegram, regardless of their ability level or type of mobile device.

Telegram improved accessibility

That's why we're excited to announce that we're bringing the telegraph to the blind. Blind users will be able to use the same interface as everyone else, but with additional functionality.

The update is for Telegram, a popular messaging app that prides itself on its user-centric design. While Telegram has come a long way in improving accessibility and usability, this latest update will be especially helpful for anyone who is visually impaired or has mobility issues. Here are some changes you can expect:

- Improved keyboard accessibility by adding support for hardware keyboards, improving auto-correction, and making buttons more distinguishable in different contexts (iOS only)

Accessibility is important. If you can't use a product or service, it's not so good for you - it's an inaccessible product or service. So accessibility is always a good thing: when someone makes their product accessible to everyone; when someone makes their service accessible to everyone; when someone makes their website accessible. It's a good thing for all of these things!

Telegram Reachability

For Telegram in particular, this is a good idea, as the TG app offers many features that can be made easier or even impossible without accessibility support. E.g:

-Voice messages are sent over the phone line, so require some special permissions on the device settings page to work (if your privacy controls don't allow it).

- Screen magnification allows visually impaired users to read a small portion of the information on the screen at once, rather than displaying all the information at once (this feature is called "high contrast").

Telegram Android
Telegram for Android version 5.0.6 is now available for download. This update to the popular messaging app adds several accessibility improvements, including:

- Support for screen magnification apps like Google Talkback and other third party apps with similar functionality.

- A new feature that allows you to quickly switch between ongoing conversations by swiping the icon from left to right in the chat tab. Additionally, you can use this gesture to preview and reply to messages in Open Chat (on supported devices).

There are also some minor bug fixes included in this release, which will improve Telegram's overall performance on all Android versions prior to 5.0.6

The Telegram app is being updated, which will make the service easier for disabled users to access and use. The update includes several features previously only available on the desktop version of Telegram, such as:

- Keyboard shortcuts for quick navigation

- Screen reader support

- Multiple font sizes (with scaling)

The update also includes several features already available on the Telegram app, such as: - Dark Mode (Android only) - Quick Replies - Stickers
